Fellow Liberians: The Liberian Community Association General Election has been rescheduled, by directive of the LCA Assembly. In a unanimous vote, the group decided to extend, up to 30 days, the General Election deadline to give qualified candidates more time to apply.
The first deadline for registration expired May 30, and no qualified individuals applied for any of the available positions. The Assembly was informed and decided to vote for extension. Therefore, all members of LCA living in the DFW may participate in the voting process. Here are the offices to be filled: · President · Vice President · Financial Secretary · Treasurer The deadline for registration is July 10. The Election will be held 6 p.m. on the third Saturday, July 16, during the regular LCA meeting at New Life Fellowship Church (3002 W Euless Blvd, Euless TX 76118). Contact person: John S. Fellow Liberians: The date is fast approaching to elect new officers for the Liberian Community Association. All Liberians living in the DFW area may be eligible to participate in the voting process without the eligibility to hold an elected office as indicated below. ARTICLE V Officers /Election /Installation Session 1 The principal elected officers of LCA shall consist of a President, Vice President, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Chaplain. Other officers to be appointed by the President shall include but not limited to Secretary, Recording Secretary, Ways and Means Secretary, Social Committee Secretary, and Presidential Advisor(s). The President shall appoint as many committees necessary for the smooth operation of the Administration. The chairperson of each committee shall be elected by its members. Session 6 All members of the Association shall be eligible to hold elected office, provided all dues from the date of their membership are paid in full, by the time a declaration of intent to contest an election is made. Session 7 All elected candidates must have attended official meetings regularly, for at least 60% of the time. (Official excuses that are granted by the president or designee will be considered as a part of the regular attendant records.) Additional information and guidelines will be provided before the election date.
